James Weaver grew up in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. He graduated from James Madison University in 2009 as a Philosophy and Religion major and a French language minor. Following graduation and prior to entering law school, Mr. Weaver completed an internship with a Congressman in the United States House of Representatives.
Mr. Weaver attended George Mason University School of Law. While in law school, he successfully completed internships at a Trusts and Estates law firm, and at Legal Services of Northern Virginia where he worked with indigent clients in family law and landlord/tenant law. From there, he worked for two years as a law clerk at a nationally renowned real-estate development company in northern Virginia where he primarily handled the legal side of commercial real estate work. Additionally, he completed a judicial internship with the Honorable Judge Rossie D. Alston, Jr. at the Court of Appeals of Virginia, where he assisted the judge with criminal and family law appeals.
Mr. Weaver graduated law school in 2013 and gained admission to the Virginia State Bar that same year. He is licensed to practice in all Virginia state courts. Upon admission, Mr. Weaver immediately opened his own general practice law firm in northern Virginia which he led for nearly two years before moving to Virginia Beach. Mr. Weaver was an Associate Attorney with The Law Office of Daniel J. Miller from April 2016 to September 2021, where he focused his practice primarily on Family Law and general civil litigation, handling cases in all courts in the Hampton Roads area.
Mr. Weaver resides in Virginia Beach with his black Labrador Retriever. In his free time, he enjoys spending time at the beach and First Landing State Park, creating short stories and other written content, and practicing the French and German languages.
