DUI Child Endangerment Penalties
According to Virginia law, a conviction of DUI child endangerment in the state involves driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs with a juvenile passenger (anyone age 17 or younger). This offense is punishable by a mandatory minimum jail sentence of five days in jail and a fine between $500 and $1,000 enhancement, in addition to penalties of a regular DUI. For a repeat offense of DUI child endangerment, it is punishable by an additional 80 hours of community service on top of the other penalties.
